Texas Rangers — The 2010 American League Champions!

It’s like Christmas here in Texas!  At least for baseball fans.  Of which, I am one!  The Texas Rangers — tonight — won the American League Championship against the New York Yankees in a series of 4 games to 2 (best of 7).  It’s the first ever trip to the World Series in franchise history for the Texas Rangers!  To say that the fans are excited is a huge understatement.

The World Series starts next Wednesday — October 27, 2010.  Texas will be playing either the San Fransisco Giants or the Philadelphia Phillies.  The National League team will have home field advantage because the National League won the All Star Game in July.  This means the first 2 games will be played in either San Francisco or Philadelphia (depending on which one wins the National League championship).  Then the next 2 games go to Texas.  If a 5th game is needed, it is also played in Texas.  If a game 6 or 7 is needed, they would then be played back in the National league team’s home ball park.  Again, the best of 7 games wins the Series.

I will be in Oklahoma for almost the whole Series.  I don’t know how I’m going to keep the noise down when I want to cheer and there are sleeping children in the house, who have to be rested for school the next morning!  I don’t know how I’m going to be able to handle the recording of game 7 (if it should come to that!) on the night that my granddaughter is in a show choir performance!  I know that seeing her — live and in person — is much more important.  Honestly I do.  And I will be there — front row, center cheering for her, hoping that I don’t hear anything about the game until I can get back to the house to watch it.
