I was catching up on blogs and friends a couple of days when I got totally sidetracked by a young woman’s story of loss. I was at Far Away in the Sunshine when I first read about Veronica. Oh how my heart goes out to Veronica and her family! Vee is a newly widowed, mother of two, Faith and Caleb and she is due to have her third child in just over a month! On November 9th, 2010 Veronica’s 31 year old husband Jeremy, passed suddenly and very unexpectedly of a heart attack. Even with the losses my own family has suffered in the last year, this young woman’s loss has my heart weeping. I just cannot imagine losing someone so young to a heart attack! It’s just so unthinkable to me. Yet, it is Veronica, Faith and Caleb’s reality.
Vee is a fellow blogger. Her blog is Everyday Kings and you can get to know her and keep up with her there. Her husband was the bread-winner of the family, so one of her blog friends decided to help out as best she could by donating the revenue from her one blog ad for the month of January. Every single time you open the blog Pennies on a Platter and let it load or refresh, a small amount of money will end up going to Vee and her children at the end of the month. The only thing it costs us to do this is a few seconds of our time. There is a paypal account also set up for Veronica, if any of us would like to or are able to donate to help them out. It’s listed on the blog also.
When I went by Pennies on a Platter today, she had a posting up about another blogger who had joined in to help. Mama Still Wears Gucci is also donating the revenue from her ads, plus if you click on the deal of the day and sign up for it, Veronica and her children get $3.00 for each of those! That could add up to be a lot of money. Especially if we all share these links with our friends and even post stories about them on our blogs and ask our readers to also share them with their friends. There is a paypal link here too.
So, this is what I’m asking. I’m asking you to please go by each of these blogs. Let them load. Click on each page of the blogs. Read the stories about Vee if you wish, but please let them load so that she and the kids get the small about of money that the clicks raise. Please go back each day and do it again. Please share her story with your friends and ask them to do the same thing. And ask them to share the story. We have the ability to help this young family at a time when they could really use the gift of time, support and freedom from worry. What a gift it would be just to be able to absorb what has happened and to get ready for the baby to be born without as much worry about how to pay for the electric bill, for instance, or putting food on the table. Life has changed drastically for them and is continuing to change every single minute, but hopefully this will give them a little breathing space to slow it down just a bit. Can you spare a few seconds to help them?
