I’m Really Home Now

I went visiting — twice — last week.  I went to see my niece, nephews and brother-in-law first.  That visit wore me plumb out.  My niece was stressed out and getting ready for her finals in a couple of weeks.  I don’t know if I can visit when she’s this stressed in the future because she stressed me out more than I care to be when it’s not a life and death situation.  Spring allergens and being on the verge of a migraine might have had something to do with my feelings about this too.  Of course I could always go and just head for a hotel if things get wild again.  I like to have a backup plan.

Then I came home for less than 24 hours before heading out to see the grandkids.  Middle C was missing me quite a bit.  I took the girls to see the Earth Day documentary Chimpanzee (I recommend it!) and then all three kids to the park the next day.  Last night, my son and I watched War Horse, which is another movie I recommend!  It was a good, although short, visit.

It is really good to be home.  While I was away, I missed seeing 5 Texas Rangers games in a row!  They were not televised in the areas I was visiting.  Boo hiss!  Sunday’s game was, so I never did figure out why some were not and some were.  Irregardless, it was good to get here in time to see Ivan (Pudge) Rodriquez announce his retirement from major league baseball.  He is my all time favorite player.  I started watching the Rangers, and baseball, just before Pudge joined the Rangers.  He was a very exciting, joyful and talented catcher who made me love the game.  Thank you Pudge!

In the next couple of days, I’ll try to catch up on any and all mail that I may not have posted in the last week or so.  I also hope to have some mail art to show you this week.  Right now, I need to catch up on my Rangers watching.
